*::She was known as Jack WILLIAMS, {{u|Gerda Arendt}}, may want to tweak that line. But that’s a cute hook too. I truly don’t care so long as it’s accurate. I think the longevity question is mostly on the talkpage as her stated age was accepted at face value in her own time... Elizabeth Williams Berry
- ... that Mother Berry got her nickname after she adopted a runaway child? Source: "Mrs Berry garnered her title of Mother from a judge in a Denver Court. He awarded her legal custody of a runaway boy" [1]

- Comment: Berry was most famous for being a jockey who disguised herself as a man, and she also lived to be 114 years old. The adoption and nickname is an interesting but minor part of her life. But not a big deal if you want to keep it short. Template:U Would you accept the following Alt1? Montanabw(talk) 06:51, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
- ALT1 ... that Mother Berry, a jockey who rode disguised as a man, got her nickname after she adopted a runaway child? Source: "Mrs Berry garnered her title of Mother from a judge in a Denver Court. He awarded her legal custody of a runaway boy" [2]
- I think the original hook is shorter and gets to the point, but I'll defer the decision of which one to use to the reviewer. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 22:35, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
- Comment: Her self-reported age looks implausible: she was likely 20 years younger. See WT:LONGEVITY#Elizabeth Williams Berry. — JFG talk 22:48, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
Interesting life, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. Of the two hooks, I prefer ALT1, as much more unusual. How do you think of this, quirky, let readers find out:- ALT2: ... that Elizabeth Williams Berry was known as both Jack
BerryWilliams and Mother Berry? - please find a way to include the doubts about her birth date. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:35, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
