that the compass rose on the flag of NATO (pictured) symbolizes the direction towards the path of peace?
- ALT1:... that the flag of NATO (pictured) was first hoisted on November 9, 1953, at the opening ceremony of the Atlantic Exhibition in Paris?
- ALT2:... that although the flag of NATO (pictured) was designed to be "simple and inoffensive", US congressman John Travers Wood criticized it for being a "strange and alien rag"?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Talal al-Sharif
- Comment: Please save for April 4, the day that NATO was established.

- Well, it's long enough and new enough, so that's a good start. I'm still looking at it, but I can tell you already that the first hook is simply not neutral and can't run. ALT1 and ALT2 would be fine, with 1 being not so terribly exciting and 2 being better but a bit wordy. Drmies (talk) 01:11, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
