  • ... that violinist Hellmut Stern (pictured), whose family escaped Nazi Germany to China and Israel, made the first tour of the Berlin Philharmonic to Israel possible? Source: several
  • Reviewed: to come
  • Comment: ... which meant he really wanted to return to Berlin, and worked from 1967 to 1990 on the dream of the tour ...

Created by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 20:26, 24 March 2020 (UTC).

  • Symbol question.svg The article meets DYK requirements, was in RD briefly. I'm surprised the article is so new, I thought he was really famous (didn't know he died either, RIP)? Anyway, hook isn't quite as good, sorry. The more interesting part is mentioned in the comment, and the phrasing makes it sound like only Stern's parents or grandparents escaped Nazi Germany, but he did, too (and as a child!). Can I ask for more hook options, even just rephrasing this one about the return to Berlin? Kingsif (talk) 19:29, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Anybody is welcome, - English is not my first language, and I hear too often that my hooks say too much ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:56, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
KingsifI reviewed now Template:Did you know nominations/Roderick Jones (1877–1962). This article is about Hellmut Stern, not the more famous Isaac Stern although the latter plays a role. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:22, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
There is not too much said... just slightly too many words saying it... (standard Wikipedia edit...)
