John Huntington

  • ... that Cleveland industrialist and Cleveland Museum of Art founder John Huntington (pictured) owned a lakeside property on which he built a hobby farm with a house, a water tower, and a steam pump irrigation system? Source: "Huntington Reservation". Cleveland Historical. In 1880, the most desirable 100 acres of the Dover Township shoreline became a summer retreat and hobby farm for John Huntington ... In addition to building a fine house on the land, Huntington, an inventor and avid tinkerer, constructed a water tower and maintained a steam pump system to irrigate his orchards and gardens. He built several other structures on his property, a few of which remain standing today.

  • Actually, I think that this could be a better hook:
ALT1: ... that Cleveland industrialists John Huntington, Hinman Hurlbut, and Horace Kelley each independently bequeathed funds that would eventually be used to form the Cleveland Museum of Art in 1913? Source: "Cleveland Museum of Art: Founders". Cleveland Museum of Art. October 22, 2012. Over the course of nine years Huntington, Kelley and Hurlbut each separately left bequests for the establishment of an art gallery. Fortunately all three estates had a common trustee, Henry Clay Ranney, who was able to reconcile the three bequests to create a single art museum which was eventually incorporated as The Cleveland Museum of Art on June 25, 1913.

Review from I'm Aya Syameimaru!: I support the hook, it's properly cited. I recommend you merge references 1 and 9 into one, because they're the same source. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 06:36, 25 February 2020 (UTC) (modified 06:59, 25 February 2020 (UTC))
Aya's review: part 2: This article has more than 7,500 characters and 1,500 before it was expanded within 7 days. (1,500 times 5 equals 7,500) The accurate and neutral hook itself appeals to everyone easily. All its references are inline citations. The John Huntington article abides by Wikipedia's core guidelines and policies, remaining consistently neutral and with (according to Earwig's Copyvio Detector) 7.4% cofidence meaning violation unlikely (or in other words obedience to copyright laws). Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 10:15, 25 February 2020 (UTC) (modified 10:17, 25 February 2020 (UTC))
Aya's review: part 3: Reword "Also a member" to "He was also a member" or "Huntington was also a member". Also change the comma after "fraternal orders" to a semi colon. (","→";") I did that for you. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 10:26, 25 February 2020 (UTC) (modified 10:27, 25 February 2020 (UTC) and again at 10:48, 25 February 2020 (UTC))
Aya's review: part 4: Alter "The junior Huntington, with his wife Jane Beck whom he married in 1852, immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1854 and worked" to "Huntington, then in his junior years, married Jane Beck in 1852. In 1854, the couple subquently immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, where Huntington worked". Also replace "working" in the "He began working at Clark" with "his employment". In addition, rewrite "1863, which was later" into "1863. The company was later". Plus, change "years, beginning in 1862." into "years (beginning in 1862).". Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 10:34, 25 February 2020 (UTC) (modified 10:38, 25 February 2020 (UTC))
This isn't a perfect review, but it gives you an idea on how to improve the article further. Alter my suggestions to fit your needs if you like. Also, I changed two of the parts of the article for you. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 10:46, 25 February 2020 (UTC) (modified 10:48, 25 February 2020 (UTC))
Just simply reword a lot of the article so that way it reads more like my GAN Monster Truck Madness. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 11:52, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
Hi Template:U, I've just adjusted the wording of the article and also merged the references according to your suggested changes. – Aranya (talk) 14:34, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
Symbol confirmed.svg Promotion from I'm Aya Syameimaru!: Hi Aranya, I enjoyed your improvements well. I now promote the article to the DYK approval stage (meaning it's now DYK), with my approval. Thanks. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 18:32, 25 February 2020 (UTC) (modified 18:45, 25 February 2020 (UTC) and again at 18:46, 25 February 2020 (UTC))
It will appear on his birthday at March 8. Aya Syameimaru 文々。新聞 19:10, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
That is perfect! Thank you for all of your help on this review. Face-smile.svgAranya (talk) 19:43, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

Template:Od*Note re special occasion request: March 8 is International Women's Day, and this is simply a birthday request. I suggest running it in the March 9 queue, where it will still pick up March 8 views in Western time zones. Yoninah (talk) 11:58, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
