Korbin Forrister
... that NASCAR driver Korbin Forrister ran a paint scheme supporting Donald Trump's presidential campaign, although the campaign was not sponsoring his team?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/1917 Georgia Tech Golden Tornado football team
- Comment: I'd prefer if this hook went live (at the soonest, if possible) on either February 19 (the start of the Camping World Truck Series season, which Forrister competes in) or February 21 (the date of the Daytona 500, the biggest NASCAR race of the year).

As has been pointed out at WT:DYK#Electioneering question, a hook mentioning Donald Trump's presidential campaign in the middle of primary season is problematic per DYK rules. Various alternate hooks are being suggested there; once a hook has been settled on, it should be brought back here for a formal review, and then, if approved, moved to the special occasion area. I have struck the problematic hook. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:18, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
- It doesn't look like there's really much discussion otherwise, although I feel like this one's probably the best of the 2 hooks suggested: Zappa24Mati
- ALT1: ... that after high school, Korbin Forrister was forced to choose between baseball and stock car racing?
Donnie Park, would you be able to return and review the ALT1 hook? If not, could someone else take a look? Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:22, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
I prefer the ALT1 hook better. Donnie Park (talk) 21:33, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
Donnie Park, you may prefer ALT1, but you're also supposed to check that the facts in it are in the article and in the source supporting the statement in the article. The article says, Template:Tq Nothing about being forced to choose; the article makes it sound like an ordinary choice. The source is a bit closer to the hook, in that it says that if he continued with baseball in college, he wouldn't have time for racing, and racing was what he wanted. But without "force" or its analogue in the article, the hook simply doesn't qualify. ZappaOMati, you'll have to adjust the article if you want to use the ALT1 hook, and maybe "had to" rather than "was forced to" would be more accurate. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:43, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
