:::::Probably I'd better think of a new hook if the above doesn't do it for you. I'll try to find something less interesting matching with a direct quote. Sorry I forgot the lecture link. + | ::Cmt, prefer original hook, which seems fine wrt sources. "earliest modern revivals of the ancient..." is much clearer. [[User:Ceoil|Ceoil]] ([[User talk:Ceoil|talk]]) 20:07, 26 April 2018 (UTC) | ||

Persian column

Top of Achaemenid column from Persepolis
- ... that the earliest modern revivals of the ancient Persian columns of the Achaemenid Empire (example at Persepolis pictured) were by Parsis in India, rather than in Iran? India: here, p. 63ff, also here, Iran: [http://www.iranicaonline.org/articles/architecture-vii
- ALT1:... that the ancient Persian columns of the Achaemenid Empire (example at Persepolis pictured) were revived by 19th-century Parsis in India, and in Iran in the 20th century? ...? India: here, p. 63ff, also here, Iran: [http://www.iranicaonline.org/articles/architecture-vii

Article is new enough, long enough, neutral, and well referenced. QPQ is done. Image is freely licensed. However, I could not verify the hook. I checked the sources linked above, and could not find one that explicitly says the first modern revivals were by Indian Parsis. Am I missing something? -Zanhe (talk) 05:19, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
- Ok try p. 59-60, and note 35, p. 68 on the first Indian source? Also, the Encyclopedia Iranica article on the period up to 1925 makes no mention of Achaemenid Revival architecture, because there wasn't any. There's this lecture, around 6:10-6:20, 23:15-26 and 32: from the same prof. Johnbod (talk) 18:29, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
- ALT1 added above. Let the reader do the maths. Sources are the same. Johnbod (talk) 15:45, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
