Richard Foster (abolitionist)

  • Reviewed: Jérémie Azou
  • Comment: In the US, February is African-American history month, so it might be nice to have this on the main page during the month.

5x expanded by Smmurphy (talk) and FloridaArmy (talk). Nominated by Smmurphy (talk) at 07:51, 5 February 2018 (UTC).

  • Symbol possible vote.svg You have to put cites directly behind the facts mentioned in the hook, not just at the end of the paragraph. Gatoclass (talk) 07:54, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Sure thing, I've done it. Should I add a ref to each sentence, or is that sufficient? Or did I get it wrong in some other way? Smmurphy(Talk) 08:01, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
Symbol voting keep.svg No, you don't have to add a cite to every sentence (though many people do nowadays), just one cite per paragraph (except lead and summary paragraphs) and a cite directly behind the hook facts. Length and date fine, hook appropriately cited and interesting, article passed copyvio check, QPQ completed. I am AGF verifying this nomination as I cannot access the source. Gatoclass (talk) 12:48, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. If you have snippet view access, you can search for "Monroe Morton". When I do it, I see most of the information you might need for verification. The next line finishes the story. Smmurphy(Talk) 14:25, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Oh no! I'm so sory, I did not intend to make this mistake. For what it is worth I've expanded the article a bit more now. Smmurphy(Talk) 01:25, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you. 5x expansion verified. Rest of review per Gatoclass. Since the article doesn't mention the United States Colored Troops, I think you should put the name of his regiment directly into the hook:
ALT1: ... that abolitionist Richard Foster was an officer of the 1st Missouri Regiment of Colored Infantry in the civil war and, with his regiment, established the Lincoln Institute as a school for African Americans?
