Socony–Mobil Building
- ... that at the time of its completion, the Socony–Mobil Building (pictured) was the largest air-conditioned building in the world? Source: https://books.google.com/books?id=3GIrAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA118
- ALT1:... that the Socony–Mobil Building (pictured), a speculative real estate development, was fully leased a year before its completion? Source: NY Times 1955
- ALT2:... that the Socony–Mobil Building (pictured) was criticized by architectural critic Lewis Mumford as having the appearance of a structure "coming down with measles"? Source: New Yorker 1956
5x expanded by Epicgenius (talk). Self-nominated at 20:24, 4 March 2020 (UTC).
5x expansion is verified, other article requirements are met. All three hooks are cited inline; assuming good faith for the sources as they're either paywalled or too small for me to verify. ALT0 and ALT2 are the most interesting and eye-catching and either can be promoted, although I've made a slight change to ALT2 and specifying Mumford's occupation as I don't think most general readers would know who he is. QPQ has been done. Final tick pending Earwigs working properly as I'm currently unable to check for close paraphrasing. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:52, 6 March 2020 (UTC)- ALT2 is truly brilliant, apart from the "criticized" and "critic" repetition! How about ALT3? Schwede66 01:31, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- ALT3: ... that the Socony–Mobil Building (pictured) was disparaged by architectural critic Lewis Mumford as having the appearance of a structure "coming down with measles"?
