William H. West (policeman)
- ... that a policeman felt it was his duty to arrest the President? Source: "I am very sorry. Mr. President, to have to do it, for you are the chief of the nation and I am nothing but a policeman, but duty is duty, sir, and I will have to place you under arrest." (Evening Star Sep 27 1908, File:Evening Star Sun Sep 27 1908.jpg)

- Nominating this now to keep within the 7-day requirement, but for the moment we're still looking for better sourcing, so no point in reviewing yet. EEng 22:30, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- Happy to review this (pending the QPQ) but I would just like to ask Template:Ping and Template:Ping, as I consider this very rich grounds for it, if they are considering this for April fools Day or not? Please ping me when you feel it is ready for review. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 19:26, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Well, with Trump in office every day is fools day, but that's another story. I actually don't think it qualifies for April Fools because it's true on its face, since when narrating a past event "the President" can be any president. Anyway, my efforts to find better sourcing still haven't panned out, and if they don't we won't be able to proceed anyway. EEng 20:30, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- OK, ping me when you think it's ready. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 16:28, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
