American Son was released on November 1, 2019 (Netflix). Directed by Kenny Leon this movie is based on Christopher Demos-Brown's Broadway play of the same name. An estranged couple reunite in a Florida police station to help find their missing teenage son. It starring

Plot
The 18-year-old son of Kendra Ellis-Connor, Jamal, has gone missing. Earlier in the evening, he went out and has yet to return. Kendra turns to the authorities, hoping that they can help find him. His questions, including whether he has a street name, any priors, or gold teeth, seem more racist than helpful when rookie officer Paul Larkin interviews Kendra about Jamal. Larkin informs Kendra that "an incident" has occurred but refuses to reveal any further details before the lieutenant arrives. Tensions are that as Kendra's estranged husband, Scott Connor, who is Jamal's father, arrives at the station as they attempt to put together what happened to Jamal.
