Drafts are often created to work on future articles before they are ready to be published or otherwise might not yet meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. These are generally created in the "Draft" namespace to avoid any possibility that a casual reader may stumble upon them. {{draft article}} goes further, prominently tagging the draft article as a draft. This also categorizes to Category:Draft articles.

Using {{subst:submit|username}} will place {{AFC submission/draft}} on the page, which provides more helpful links and a convenient option to submit the article to the Articles for Creation process.

Usage

{{Draft article}}

{{Draft article|name}}

The single, positional parameter is the name of the page that is the intended target of the draft article. Do not link to an article in this fashion. This parameter is optional and defaults to "into an article".

Example

Markup Renders as
{{Draft article|Old Man and the Sea}}
