copy:

* {{eol| }}

Usage

  1. Search on eol.org for the subject you want.
  2. Click on the correct link to go to the subject's page.
  3. The page URL should look like http://www.eol.org/pages/#######, where "#######" indicates a number.
  4. Copy ONLY that number
  5. Add to the external links section the text:
* {{eol|#######|label}}
where "#######" is the number you've copied, and "label" is the full title of the EOL article, for example: Pogonomyrmex anergismus Cole, 1954

Example

  1. Search for Nicrophorus americanus on eol.org. You'll get to this page: http://www.eol.org/pages/1044544
  2. Copy "1044544" and add this number as the first parameter, then copy "Nicrophorus americanus Olivier 1790" and add it as the second parameter:
{{eol|1044544|Nicrophorus americanus Olivier 1790}}

The result on the page Nicrophorus americanus is:

"Nicrophorus americanus Olivier 1790" at the Encyclopedia of LifeScript error: No such module "EditAtWikidata".Template:WikidataCheck

Typically this is a list item in the external links section (even if there is only one link), so you should add "*" in front.
