Template:Uses Wikidata

Usage

  1. Search on eol.org for the subject you want.
  2. Click on the correct link to go to the subject's page.
  3. The page URL should look like http://www.eol.org/pages/#######, where "#######" indicates a number.
  4. Copy ONLY that number
  5. Add thet number to the corresponding Wikidata item, using Template:Wikidata entity.
  6. Add to the external links section the text:
* {{EOL}}

Alternatively:

Add to the external links section the text:

* {{EOL|#######|label}}
where "#######" is the number you've copied, and "label" is the full title of the EOL article, for example: Pogonomyrmex anergismus

Example

  1. Search for Nicrophorus americanus on eol.org. You'll get to this page: http://www.eol.org/pages/1044544
  2. Copy "1044544" and add this number as the first parameter, then copy "Nicrophorus americanus" and add it as the second parameter:
{{EOL|1044544|Nicrophorus americanus}}

The result on the page Nicrophorus americanus is:

"Nicrophorus americanus" at the Encyclopedia of LifeScript error: No such module "EditAtWikidata".Template:WikidataCheck

Typically this is a list item in the external links section (even if there is only one link), so you should add "*" in front.
