Before posting a question here, check to see if it is answered below. Why does this article describe InfoWars as "far-right"?
Because that is the consensus of reliable sources. Some examples of such sources are: The Independent, USA Today, CNN, Politico, The Boston Globe, Time Magazine, CBS, and even the reliably conservative Washington Times Why does this article describe InfoWars as a "conspiracy theory" website?
Because a large number of reliable sources have documented InfoWars pushing unwarranted conspiracy theories, sometimes even after those theories have been proven false. Examples include the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, various New World Order conspiracy theories, 9/11 conspiracy theories, Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theories, MMR vaccine controversy, and theories about chemtrails and the HPV vaccine. This is documented in sources such as Vox, Newsweek, Rolling Stone and the National Review. Why does this article describe InfoWars as a "fake news" website?
Because that is what so many reliable sources have described it as. Many of the stories published by InfoWars rest upon claims that have been proven false, or which could not possibly be true. Sources which have evaluated the site and concluded it to be a fake news site include: Vox, The New York Daily News, CNN, The Los Angeles Times, CBS News and The Statesman. Aren't these terms violations of the neutral point-of-view policy?
No. Our NPOV policy does not require us to avoid judgemental labels. Rather, it actually requires us to use such labels when they are are used by the preponderance of reliable sources, and not contested by any reliable sources, and when their use is not subjective. For more about how our NPOV policy actually works, see
