Adidas AG (German: [ˈʔadiˌdas]; stylized as adidas since 1949) is a German multinational corporation, founded and headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, that designs and manufactures shoes, clothing and accessories. It is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe, and the second largest in the world, after Nike.[1]

Adidas was founded by Adolf “Adi” Dassler on August 18, 1949, in Herzogenauch, Germany. The company now also headquartered there and Adidas product products are traditionally marked with a three-stripe trademark, which remains an element in the company’s newer “trefoil” and “mountain” logos.[2][3]

By 2018, Adidas operates 1190 stores worldwide with 57,019 employees in total. Adidas successfully generates their revenue to €21.915 billion.[4]
