This template flags an article for the attention of an expert in that subject. It has the option of being assigned to a specific subcategory of Category:Articles needing expert attention, depending on the topic of the article. These subcategories are named after WikiProjects.

Important: When adding this template to an article, please state either inline or on the article's talk page the issue that you think an expert needs to address. Unexplained expert tags may be simply removed.

Usage

Syntax

{{Expert-subject |subject name here |2= |talk= |reason= |date= }}

Parameters

  1. Add the name of the WikiProject as the first parameter, e.g., {{Expert-subject|Technology}}.
  2. A second optional parameter, |2=, may be used to override the default "article" text with, for example, "section", "diagram" or "paragraph".
  3. (a) If you have started a discussion on the article's talk page, you may link to that discussion with a third optional parameter, |talk=, using the section title of the discussion.
(b) Alternatively, you may use the |reason= parameter to provide a short explanation describing the issue directly within the template, instead of, or in addition to the "talk" parameter.
  1. Also, the date of adding the template may be used as the next parameter, e.g., |date=January 2026.

Example

{{Expert-subject|Technology|2=documentation|talk=Section title goes here|reason=reason goes here|date=Month Year}} will give:
