This template is used to generate an external link to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) diagram for a specific airport. These URLs change every 28 days, so by using a template they can be updated in one place rather than editing multiple articles.

Parameters

  1. (required) - airport number as found in URL of the FAA's Digital Terminal Procedures Publication. For a URL of http://naco.faa.gov/d-tpp/0701/00001AD.PDF, the airport number is 00001.
  2. (optional) - airport name

Examples

  1. For Abilene Regional Airport, without optional parameter:
    • URL: http://naco.faa.gov/d-tpp/0701/00001AD.PDF
    • Usage: {{FAA-diagram|00001}}
    • Result: FAA Airport Diagram (PDF), effective Error: Invalid time.
  2. For O'Hare International Airport, with optional parameter:

Technical information

The airport diagrams are part of the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) which is updated on a 28-day cycle as per the ICAO. For the FAA's Digital Terminal Procedures/Airport Diagram, this causes a change in the URL involving four numbers: the first two represent the year (07 for 2007) and the second two represent the current cycle (01 through 13). This template should be updated on the effective date for each new cycle. The following is a list of the changes and effective dates since the beginning of 2007:

  • 0701 - Effective 18 JAN 2007 to 15 FEB 2007
  • 0702 - Effective 15 FEB 2007 to 15 MAR 2007
  • 0703 - Effective 15 MAR 2007 to 12 APR 2007
  • 0704 - Effective 12 APR 2007 to 10 MAY 2007
  • 0705 - Effective 10 MAY 2007 to 07 JUN 2007
  • 0706 - Effective 07 JUN 2007 to 05 JUL 2007
  • 0707 - Effective 05 JUL 2007 to 02 AUG 2007
  • 0708 - Effective 02 AUG 2007 to 30 AUG 2007
  • 0709 - Effective 30 AUG 2007 to 27 SEP 2007
  • 0710 - Effective 27 SEP 2007 to 25 OCT 2007
  • 0711 - Effective 25 OCT 2007 to 22 NOV 2007
  • 0712 - Effective 22 NOV 2007 to 20 DEC 2007
  • 0713 - Effective 20 DEC 2007 to 17 JAN 2008
  • 0801 - Effective 17 JAN 2008 to 14 FEB 2008
  • 0802 - Effective 14 FEB 2008 to 13 MAR 2008
