| This is a documentation subpage for Template:Footballstats. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
| This template employs intricate features of template syntax.

If your edit causes unexpected problems, please undo it quickly, as this template may appear on a large number of pages. You can conduct experiments, and should test all major changes, in either this template's sandbox, the general template sandbox, or your user space before changing anything here. |
Usage
To use this template, copy and paste this text to a baseball player's external links section:
{{Footballstats |nfl= |cfl= |afl= |espn= |cbs= |yahoo= |fox= |si= |pfr= |rotoworld= |dbf=}}
Add the page ID's after the equals sign to properly direct the links that you desire to have. If you do not specify an ID, the site will not be shown. Example:
{{Footballstats |nfl=MAN515097 |cfl= |afl= |espn=1428|cbs=12531 |yahoo=4256 |fox=69814 |si=4256 |pfr=M/MannPe00 |rotoworld=1493 |dbf=MANNIPEY01}}
To find a player's unique ID, find the player's page on a website and locate a string of numbers or letters in the URL similar to the ones above. That is the player's unique ID. See example at Peyton Manning.
Note: NFL.com urls with a format similar to http://www.nfl.com/player/charliejoiner/2517795/profile, typically found with retired players at http://www.nfl.com/players?playerType=historical, are not currently supported by this template.
