Geological timescale template

Usage

Use the format {{Gigaannum|Years_ago}}

Years_ago is a number (don't include commas, which are added automatically)

Examples

  • {{Gigaannum|65}}
gives

65 Ga

  • {{Gigaannum|65|100}}
gives

65–100 Ga

Rationale

With geological time, it is often useful to be consistent in using time units.

Hence, this template allows an easy way to implement such units for billion years.

See also

  • {{Ma}} (millions of years ago)
