PwC ranks as the second-largest professional services network in the world[1] and is considered one of the Big Four accounting firms, along with Deloitte, EY and KPMG.[2] The firm in its present form was created in 1998 by a merger between two accounting firms; Coopers & Lybrand, and Price Waterhouse. Both firms had histories dating back to the 19th century. The trading name was shortened to PwC (on-logo writing pwc) in September 2010 as part of a rebranding effort.[3] PwC’s professional services, including audit and assurance, tax and consulting, cover such areas as cybersecurity and privacy, human resources, deals and forensics. PwC help resolve complex issues and identify opportunities across these industries.[4]

Support to combat racial justice

In response to the killing of unarmed Black men in the summer of 2016, Tim Ryan, PwC US Chair and Senior Partner, co-founded CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion. Two years later, in 2018, PwC lost a member of its own community, Botham Jean, to this same kind of violence.[5]

In respons to the killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, and the countless other Black individuals. Tim Ryan also send a message on PwC website.

The firm is also offering free racial trauma counseling for PwCers and their families.[6]
