| This is a documentation subpage for Template:IPA-frp. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
This template formats IPA transcriptions and links them to Help:IPA/Franco-Provençal. The transcription should match the conventions of that key; for narrower dialect transcriptions, use {{IPA-all}}, which links to a more complete IPA key.
The first cell in the template is for the transcription, and a second optional cell is a switch that controls the lede. With no second value, the lead Franco-Provençal pronunciation: appears:
{{IPA-frp|o}}→ Franco-Provençal pronunciation: [o]{{IPA-frp|o|pron}}→ pronounced [o]{{IPA-frp|o|lang}}→ Franco-Provençal: [o]{{IPA-frp|o|IPA}}→ IPA: [o]{{IPA-frp|o|}}→ [o]
Any of these may be combined with a sound file in an optional third cell:
{{IPA-frp|o|IPA|}}→ IPA: [o]
For the default lede, however, the placeholder ‹-› is required in the second cell:
{{IPA-frp|o|-|}}→ Franco-Provençal pronunciation: [o]
