Usage

This template formats IPA transcriptions and links them to WP:IPA for Galician and Portuguese. The transcription should match the conventions of that key; for narrower dialect transcriptions, use {{IPA-all}}, which links to a more complete IPA key.

The first cell in the template is for the transcription, and a second optional cell is a switch that controls the lede. With no second value, the lede Galician pronunciation: appears:

  • {{IPA-gl|tu}}Galician pronunciation: [tu]
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|pron}}pronounced [tu]
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|lang}}Galician: [tu]
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|eo}}Eonavian pronunciation: [tu]
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|langeo}}Eonavian: [tu]
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|local}}locally [tu]
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|IPA}}IPA: [tu]
  • {{IPA-gl|tu|}}[tu]

Any of these may be combined with a sound file in an optional third cell:

  • {{IPA-gl|tu|IPA|Es-tú.ogg}}IPA: [tu] (About this soundlisten)

For the default lede, however, a placeholder such as ‹-› is required in the second cell:

  • {{IPA-gl|tu|-|Es-tú.ogg}}Galician pronunciation: [tu] (About this soundlisten)
