| 40px | This is a documentation subpage for Template:IUPAC spelling. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
In addition to the documentation provided for Template:English variant notice, an additional parameter is available. Setting lang=en-us will change the template to recommend American English instead of Oxford-style British English. Likewise, setting the same parameter to lang=en-gb will have the template recommend the more common British suffix –ise. Set this extra parameter with care, however, as international organizations such as the IUPAC generally prefer the Oxford spellings.
