This defunct template was used for noting that an article needs addition of [[Indic scripts]] per [[WP:NCIN|this failed proposal]]. It used to add the page to [[:Category:Articles needing Indic script or text]]. Following [[Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics/Archive 48#Native languages in lead|this RfC]] it was decided to no longer encourage inclusion of Indic scripts in article leads, so the template was blanked.
