This is a preview template, designed to facilitate the finding of abbreviations, and creation of various redirects for academic journals and similar publications. JAH stands for Journal Abbreviations Helper.

Usage

The template has two parameters, the first one is for the journal name or abbreviation, the second one for the 'issn'. The ISSN is optional, and will make a few more search link work.

  • {{JAH|JOURNALNAME|ISSN}}

To use the template, put say {{JAH|Journal of Foobar|0123-4567}} in the edit window, and click on Show preview.

If JOURNALNAME exist, you will be presented with something like this

which can then be used to search for abbreviations.

If JOURNALNAME does not exist, you will then be presented with something like

The redirect creation links will pre-load a page that can then be saved to create redirects from JOURNALNAME to the page the template is previewed on. For instance if JOURNALNAME is a former name of the journal, click on "former name", to create a redirect tagged with {{R from former name}}.

However, to create a redirect from an abbreviation, you need to first find the abbreviation (e.g. J. Foobar), and preview the page again

and then click on the appropriate link (e.g. 'ISO 4 abbreviation' for an ISO 4 abbreviation).
