This template generates one or more links for the Japanese Template:Nihongo4 or JPNO of publications. The Template:Nihongo4 is maintained by the Template:Nihongo4 of Japan. It takes up to nine parameters. It is intended as an alternative, when the book in question does not appear in the Online Computer Library Center.

The template can also be used inside the |id= parameter of the various {{cite xxx}} citation templates.

Example #1:

Usage: {{JPNO|21005395}}
Renders as: JPNO 21005395
Links to: //iss.ndl.go.jp/api/openurl?ndl_jpno=21005395&locale=en (Protocol-relative URL) — an OpenURL search result rather than directly linking to the item.

Though //id.ndl.go.jp/jpno/21005395 redirects to //iss.ndl.go.jp/api/openurl?ndl_jpno=21005395, the same search result, linking directly to the OpenURL API allows for also requesting the English UI.

Note: Unlike the NDL's bib ID, e.g., //id.ndl.go.jp/bib/000008144816/eng, the JPNO is designed to also be used outside of NDL, e.g., http://webcatplus.nii.ac.jp/webcatplus/details/book/nbn/21005395.html from Webcat Plus by the Template:Nihongo4.
