There are 168 dedicated temples (161 currently operating; and 7 previously dedicated, but closed for renovation), 17 under construction, and 40 announced (not yet under construction), for a total of 225.[1]

  1. Although all operating temples were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, in mid-March 2020, a phased reopening initially began on May 11, 2020. As of mid-June, 77 temples are in phase 1 of that process.
