This template is used to generate an external link to the French Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) for a specific airport. These URLs change every 28 days, so by using a template they can be updated in one place rather than editing multiple articles.

Airports in France

Parameters:

  1. (unnamed) - airport's ICAO location identifier, i.e. LFMN
  2. name (optional) - airport's location, i.e. NICE CÔTE D'AZUR (location and bold print are as shown in the AIP). Most airports show two locations: the first is the city served, second is the city where the airport is located.

Technical information

The AIP is updated on a 28-day cycle as per the ICAO. For the online version of the French AIPs this causes a change in the URL involving four numbers: the first two represent the year (07 for 2007) and the second two represent the current cycle (01 through 13). This template should be updated on the effective date for each new cycle. The following is a list of changes required in 2007 and 2008:

  • 0701 - Effective 21 DEC 2006 to 18 JAN 2007
  • 0702 - Effective 18 JAN 2007 to 15 FEB 2007
  • 0703 - Effective 15 FEB 2007 to 15 MAR 2007
  • 0704 - Effective 15 MAR 2007 to 12 APR 2007
  • 0705 - Effective 12 APR 2007 to 10 MAY 2007
  • 0706 - Effective 10 MAY 2007 to 07 JUN 2007
  • 0707 - Effective 07 JUN 2007 to 05 JUL 2007
  • 0708 - Effective 05 JUL 2007 to 02 AUG 2007
  • 0709 - Effective 02 AUG 2007 to 30 AUG 2007
  • 0710 - Effective 30 AUG 2007 to 27 SEP 2007
  • 0711 - Effective 27 SEP 2007 to 25 OCT 2007
  • 0712 - Effective 25 OCT 2007 to 22 NOV 2007
  • 0713 - Effective 22 NOV 2007 to 20 DEC 2007
  • 0801 - Effective 20 DEC 2007 to 17 JAN 2008
  • 0802 - Effective 17 JAN 2008 to 14 FEB 2008
  • 0803 - Effective 14 FEB 2008 to 13 MAR 2008
  • 0804 - Effective 13 MAR 2008 to 10 APR 2008
  • 0805 - Effective 10 APR 2008 to 08 MAY 2008
  • 0806 - Effective 08 MAY 2008 to 05 JUN 2008
  • 0807 - Effective 05 JUN 2008 to 03 JUL 2008
  • 0808 - Effective 03 JUL 2008 to 31 JUL 2008
  • 0809 - Effective 31 JUL 2008 to 28 AUG 2008
  • 0810 - Effective 28 AUG 2008 to 25 SEP 2008
  • 0811 - Effective 25 SEP 2008 to 23 OCT 2008
  • 0812 - Effective 23 OCT 2008 to 20 NOV 2008
  • 0813 - Effective 20 NOV 2008 to 18 DEC 2008

To find the current effective date and URL format, go to the Aeronautical Information Publications page of the Service d'information aéronautique (SIA) website and view the AIP for an airport. If resulting page has a URL of http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/aip/enligne/PDF_AIPparSSection/VAC%20HELISTATIONS/AD/3/0811_AD-3.HABB.pdf, then use 0811 in place the four digit number found in the template.
