- ... that after laying her eggs on a leaf, the female mango leaf-cutting weevil severs the leaf near its base and lets it fall to the ground? Source: "About 2 to 14 eggs are laid in one young leaf which is then cut by the female weevil, near the base of the leaf from one edge (i.e. either from right or left) through the midrib to the other edge. Damage leaves are dropped to the ground."
