Symbol question.svg Substantial article on good sources. I find the original hook too specialized, ALT2 a bit boring (just what you expect if an animal is called Giant), and ALT1 interesting but a bit too complicated. Drop the years? Try harder ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:02, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Template:Ping The 2009 date is kind of important because it has changed since. At least one individual I knew of has died, but I don't have any sources for it. – Maky « talk » 17:32, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
I believe that the 2009 is important as related to the sources, but we don't have to say it all in the hook, we only have to raise curiosity by saying something factual. I would go for a modified ALT4,
ALT5: ... that although giant mouse lemurs (pictured) breed easily in captivity, a managed population of 62 individuals of the endangered species fell to only six within twenty years?

Thanks. I like ALT5... except that it was 20 years, not 10. – Maky « talk » 20:36, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
