James Amster

Amster Yard, New York City
Amster Yard, New York City
  • ... that Norman Norell, Billy Baldwin, Isamu Noguchi were all living and working in the same building complex, Amster Yard, restored by James Amster in 1944? Source: Manhattan's Turtle Bay: Story of a Midtown Neighborhood by Pamela Hanlon (2008) ([1])
    • ALT1:... that Elsie De Wolfe suggested to James Amster to add a mirror at the end of Amster Yard, to make it appear bigger, and that the mirror is still in place today? Source: Manhattan's Turtle Bay: Story of a Midtown Neighborhood by Pamela Hanlon (2008) ([2])

  • The first suggestion is not factually accurate. Page 170 of the cited source specifies that Wallace made the comment in 1995 after reviewing excerpts of the program "The Homosexuals", a CBS Reports episode that aired in 1967. I like ALT1 though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Crewman Capote (talkcontribs)
I withdraw ALT0, now ALT1 is ALT0 and ALT2 is ALT1. Elisa.rolle
  • 16px ALT1 verified. 16px ALT0 partially verified on pages 16 and 45 of the ref for the people mentioned, but failed verification for 1944, the alleged year of restoration. Hook lengths verified. Article newness, policy-compliance verified. No copyvios detected. Image is PD. Dr. K. 04:52, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
