  • Symbol possible vote.svg Article looks good, recently improved five-fold, well-sourced, image is free and looks good. "Important Costa Rican writer" in the lead seems unsubstantiated to me. You could write up a sentence in the lead instead about his awards and honours. This is a problem for both hooks; no mention of Gutiérrez being "popular", and he only received awards in his homeland, so I'm not sure how that qualifies as "internationally recognized". Thanks for checking it, CR4ZE. You're right that calling him "important" is unsubstantiated. I changed the lead to "was a Costa Rican writer who won multiple awards and had his children's book, Cocorí, was translated in ten languages" to reflect the popularity as well. Two of the awards (Rapa Nui and Jose Marti) were from Chile and Cuba, even though those awards are now defunct (I think). Any thoughts? Mvblair (talk) 11:53, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Symbol confirmed.svg Support original hook. Shorter/simpler than Alt1, and I still don't think "internationally recognized" qualifies if his recognition only exists in South America. CR4ZE (tc) 00:53, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
