Kongsi federation

Created/expanded by Khanate General (talk). Self-nominated at 01:42, 1 May 2015 (UTC).

  • Symbol question.svg The references seem fine (AGF for being printed sources, no Google Book links). Only one paragraph was lacking a reference (cite req added). Minor language c/e is needed (kongsi is too often spelled without a capital letter). Hook is neutral and referenced. The article structure needs improvement (lead is too long, body too short) but this is not a DYK MoS issue. However, the empty section "Rise of kongsi federations" needs to be (preferably) expanded or deleted. As the author has nominated a number of DYKs before, a review of another nom is required. Please ping me when those issues are addressed. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:31, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
There are a couple of citation needed tags that need taking care of and then this will be ready. (now some cheerleading: Come on!; let's go!; let's get this nom done! K-O-N-G-S-I; yeeeeeah, kongsi!) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Belle (talkcontribs) 09:09, 25 June 2015‎ (UTC)

  • Template:Ping Symbol voting keep.svg All re-reviewed and confirmed as ready to go. AGF on the offline sources (certainly aligns with the material I can read on Google books. One slight criticism in that the article would benefit from some more geographical discussion of the federations and perhaps a map of the Western Borneo region, but certainly not something that affects the nomination. A fascinating piece of history. I actually think the hook is underselling it for the average reader (like myself) who would be more interested in the idea of Chinese commercial organisations acting as states in foreign lands. Any chance you fancy a re-write along those lines? SFB 20:59, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
