• ... that a parasitic barnacle effectively castrates its hosts, the flattened and the knot-fingered mud crabs? Source: "This process eliminates the crab’s ability to reproduce and results in the crab caring for the developing larvae of the parasite."
  • ALT1:... that a parasitic barnacle manipulates the behaviour of its hosts, the flattened and the knot-fingered mud crabs, causing them to care for its developing eggs?

• All new, in time, long enough, and sourced (added an inline citation for DYK) with no apparent copyvios. Three QPQs done. I prefer ALT0; "castration" seems more clickbaity than "manipulation." Template:U, "cyprid larva]]" should either linked or have the brackets removed. --Usernameunique (talk) 09:48, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

• Thanks, I've corrected that. The manipulation includes making the male crab behave like a female. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:25, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

• Template:U, looks good. Feel free to add that as an ALT2 if you like, and we can let the promoter make the final determination. --Usernameunique (talk) 10:50, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
