Megachile chomskyi
- ... that Megachile chomskyi (pictured), a species of bee named after the linguist Noam Chomsky, has a tongue that's more than half the length of its body? Source: "Male: Body length 13 mm [...] Tongue length 7.2 mm [...] Female: Body length 13–13.5 mm, [...] Tongue length 7.2 mm." "It is my pleasure to name this species after Professor Noam Chomsky, Department of Linguistics & Philosophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)." [1]
- ALT1:... that Megachile chomskyi (pictured), a leafcutter bee found in Texas, is named after the linguist Noam Chomsky? Source: "A new species of leafcutter bee, Megachile (Megachiloides) chomskyi, is described from Texas, United States." ibid.
- ALT2:... that Megachile chomskyi (pictured), named after the linguist Noam Chomsky, is a leafcutter bee found in Texas? Source: ibid.

- Comment: I've been told before I shouldn't have so many links in the hooks so I'm submitting with only the main article linked, but it might also be worth linking Noam Chomsky and leafcutter bee.
- Comment: Agree on link for NC, not for leafcuttter bee. David notMD (talk) 15:40, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

Good to go. Article is new, long enough, hook has a citation, NPOV and nominator did a QPQ. Prefer proposed hook over ALT1 and ALT2. Although the facts are in the Description (length of body, length of tongue) it would be an improvement vis-a-vis the hook if the description specifically stated that tongue length is more than half of body length. P.S. As an undergrad at MIT I attended several of Chomsky's lectures, although did not take a course he taught. David notMD (talk) 16:14, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
- Template:Ping Thanks! I added in an explicit percentage — does this look better? And neat! :) Umimmak (talk) 16:51, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
- New problem is that the next sentence also has a 55% in it, so at first glance confusing. Either delete the next sentence or convert the previous sentence to being more than half it's body length. David notMD (talk) 17:20, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
- Template:Ping I don't see it being particularly confusing, but I changed it to the less precise "more than half". The second sentence should not be deleted as that ratio is diagnostic. Umimmak (talk) 17:40, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
- Accept with the last change to article. Reaffirming
