The hook fact is interesting and cited to a Google Books page from the Encyclopedia of Geography published by Sage publishers. All the sources are reliable enough. Yes, this is a start-class article, but aside from the two quotes, it does not give a good indication as to why she is notable. Footnote 1 mentions the number of books and papers she's written, which should be included, but something should be said about her 45+ years in the field.
