Usage

This template is put at the top of a biographical article after the first bolded mention of the subject's name, to create a note to explain to readers which part of a Korean person's name is the family name. If desired, the person's generation name can also be stated. The template will automatically link to the article (if one exists) of the specified family name. For example,

{{Korean name 2|Kim}}

will display

[lower-alpha 1]

If the family name article does not follow the "NAME (Korean surname)" naming convention, a link can be created manually, e.g.

{{Korean name 2|[[Won (Korean surname)|Won]]}}

will display

[lower-alpha 2]

If the surname is stage or pen name, e.g.

{{Korean name 2|Lee|Han}}

will display

[lower-alpha 3]

This template can only be used on articles that include {{notelist}} or, if |reftype= is used, another footnote marker.
