Required parameters

{{Erratum}} requires an identifier link to the errata: |bibcode= (for bibcodes), |doi= (for DOIs), |pmc= (for PMCIDs), and |pmid= (for PMIDs) are supported. Failing that, |url= is also supported for a generic web link.

Usage

This template is used to mark citations with errata/corrigenda. Using

  • Smith, J. (2008). "Foobar." ''Journal of Barfoo''. '''5''':12. {{erratum|doi=10.1234/0123456789}}

gives

If the errata does not affect the relevant material (e.g. a correction to author names and affiliated, a correction that affects a passage unrelated to the material supported by the citation), then use

  • {{retracted|doi=10.1234/0123456789|checked=yes}}

which gives

If the errata affects the relevant material, then update the article accordingly before marking the erratum as checked. The template works with citation templates too, for example

*{{cite journal |last1=Gallouzi |first1=I. E. |last2=Brennan |first2=C. M. |last3=Steitz |first3=J. A. |title=Protein ligands mediate the CRM1-dependent export of HuR in response to heat shock. |journal=RNA |date=September 2001 |volume=7 |issue=9 |pages=1348-61 |pmc=1370177 |pmid=11565755}} {{erratum|pmid=14561890|pmc=1287062|checked=yes}}

gives

  • Gallouzi, I. E.; Brennan, C. M.; Steitz, J. A. (September 2001). "Protein ligands mediate the CRM1-dependent export of HuR in response to heat shock". RNA. 7 (9): 1348–61. PMC 1370177. PMID 11565755. (Erratum: Template:Pmc,Template:SpTemplate:Pmid)

Do not use this template in the fields of citation templates such as Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2, as the HTML markup will be rendered in the metadata for that field.

Cleanup category

Pages containing this template will be placed in the category Category:Articles citing publications with errata, unless the citations are marked as intentional. Ideally this category should be empty.
