If you have been blocked without cause, please read Wikipedia:AOL for advice.
Attention:
This IP address, AOL, is the address of a shared AOL (formerly America Online) web proxy. Only users for whom AOL's proxy systems do not implement the X-Forwarded-For service will be seen as originating from this IP address: all others will be correctly identified as coming from IP addresses in AOL's static address range.
Please note: as of 2007, all accesses by unregistered AOL users via proxies that do not implement X-Forwarded-For are now blocked as open proxies, and no further edits should be seen coming from these addresses.
To administrators: please report any new editing activity that appears to be originating from one of these proxy addresses.
To AOL users: if you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this is not the IP address of your machine. AOL is the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. These and other proxies are shared among thousands of AOL users. If you cannot edit Wikipedia, or are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid these problems by creating an account for yourself.
Please note: This template should be transcluded ({{AOL}}) and not substituted (subst) because it is likely to change in the near future as the management of AOL proxies changes. Transclusion allows easy updating of all of these templates throughout the project without having to trackdown and edit hundreds of pages containing different versions of the same template.
