Template:Citation-attribution/doc
| This is a documentation subpage for Template:Citation-attribution. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage
This template can be placed at the end of a sentence, sentences or a paragraph that incorporate text from a source that is not under copyright, if there is no source specific template.
This template takes one parameters the name of the source and and any other details which are needed to identify the work:
- {{Citation-attribution|title, author and other details}}
If a Wikipedia article incorporates a substantial amount of text from an external source more than one paragraph in a section or text in several sections, then there is no need to use this template instead cite the source in the usual manner and use the {{source-attribution}} in the References section of the article.
Examples
:<ref>{{Citation-attribution|Book of Animals, Diane Hoffman (1907), 122}}</ref>
displays as:
The lion is a noble beast of mighty mien.[1]
