Purpose
This template enables the citation of articles from the Wikisource project Appletons' Cyclopædia of American Biography in the manner of {{cite encyclopaedia}}.
Usage

or with a specification of the optional year, author, notaref or noicon parameters:

Notes
In the examples above, this template automatically adds the hidden category "Wikipedia articles incorporating text from Appleton's Cyclopedia" to the articles it is used in. The addition of this category can be eliminated by setting the parameter notaref to some value. For example,
{{Cite Appletons'|Blenker, Louis|notaref=x}}
will not insert the category, though there will be no noticable difference in the page. This would be appropriate when the citation is made for further information only, and thus the text of the Appleton's entry has not been used in the article it is cited in.
