Purpose

This template facilitates the citation of articles from either an external source or from the Wikisource project Easton's Bible Dictionary in the manner of {{cite encyclopaedia}}.

Usage

To link to an article on Wikisource:

  • {{Cite EBD|wstitle=EBD article name}}

or to name an article and optionally link to another site using the url parameter:

  • {{Cite EBD|title=EBD article name|url=url here}}

Using the article name Samaritan Pentateuch as an example with wstitle=:

{{Cite EBD|wstitle=Samaritan Pentateuch}}

If the parameter short=1 is set then some of the other parameters are not displayed:

The parameter noicon=1 stops the display of the icon:

noicon=1 and short=1 can be combined:

There are some other parameters available (a subset of those contained in {{cite encyclopedia}}). These are:

  • volume=number
  • page=number
  • pages='numbers
  • ref=ref type
