Purpose

Provides an easy way to cite web pages at SummitPost.org

An advantage of this template is that malformed URL's are less likely to occur. Also, the appearance of the citation will automatically conform with {{cite web}} which sees more frequent maintenance.

To find the feature on the cite got to the advanced search page and enter the name of the feature in the from box

As an example enter Mount Whitney in the search box on the top right. You will usually be offered a list to choose from. Select the feature you are interested in and click it. Aother page will be displayed with useful information and yoy will hopefully find the information you are looking for. Now there is a URL in the address bar which should look like this: http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/150227/mount-whitney.html. Copy that number into the template as the id field. It can be seen that the page name is Mount Witney so copy that into the template the name field.

The fields id and name must be specified.
