Insurance Corporation of Afghanistan (ICA)
The Insurance Corporation of Afghanistan, ICA is Afghanistan’s first privately owned, multi-line insurance company. It was established in mid 2007 by a group of Afghan and International businessmen to, primariliy, offer property and casualty insurance to companies and organisations that need affordable insurance coverage for their property and liability exposures, or are required by their lenderes to carry comprehensive risk insurance coverage. ICA received its license from the governement of Afghanistan in early 2008.
ICA has established relationships with some of the leading insurers and reinsurers in the London Market and the underwriting syndicates at Lloyd’s of London. Centered around Lloyd’s of London which has never failed to pay a valid claim in over 300 years of its hisotry, virtually all international insurance companies, corporations and brokerage houses trade in the London Market. Net worldwide premiums of the UK insurance market totals nearly 200 billion USD, of which 20% comes from the overseas markets.
Recognizing these strengths, instead of going through intermediary insurance companies, ICA has forged affiliation links with Lloyd’s syndicates and the London Market insuers that will enable it to satisfy, virtually all requirements, by offering state of teh art insurance coverage, at premiums that are competitive and affordable. This combines the strengths of a mature and stable insurance industry with local input, expertise and knowledge. ICA offers the best of both worlds: Global Reach, Local Perspective.
