Controversy

In Virginia, the USA, interracial marriage is prohibited and considered a crime. Although it seems that nobody in Virginia would take a side in a white man living with an African American woman, the couple shows their determination and resiliency to prove that racism should not be a barrier in love[4]. This movie shows that standing up and fighting for what you believe in has a very impactful influence, as shown that in the end, the Supreme Court states that the interracial marriage law is unconstitutional and changes the law of marriage forever especially in Virginia[5].
