Far Centaurus
... that in van Vogt's "Far Centaurus", the crew of a spaceship arrives at Alpha Centauri after 500 years, only to learn the journey now takes 3 hours?

The article is good enough and long enough. It seems to be mostly plot summary, so adding more analysis might round out the page better in the future. The article uses neutral language and there don't appear to be any copyvios. The hook is not cited in the article, however, because it is part of the plot summary (which from my understanding is fine without sources). I just don't know how to address that issue of this particular DYK. Could another reviewer help me understand what the policy is on this? Amgisseman(BYU) (talk) 20:09, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
Unfortunately, this hook runs afoul of WP:DYKSG#C6: Template:Tq Giving the title and author doesn't involve the real world, it just identifies the work of fiction. A new hook will be needed. BlueMoonset (talk) 07:43, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- ...And so starts the endless parade. Well here goes:
- ALT1: ... when discussing interstellar travel, Robert Forward uses the theme of van Vogt's short story "Far Centaurus"?
Hmm. How about ALT2: "... that Robert Forward invoked van Vogt's short story "Far Centaurus" when discussing the problem of interstellar travel" ? DS (talk) 20:16, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
- I like the new hook, and think the proportion of plot to out of universe material in the article is acceptable. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 04:48, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
Reviewer needed to check the proposed ALT hooks, which I have labeled with ALT1 and ALT2. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:10, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
