Flag of NATO
- ...
that the compass rose on the flag of NATO (pictured) symbolizes the direction towards the path of peace?
- ALT1:... that the flag of NATO (pictured) was first hoisted on November 9, 1953, at the opening ceremony of the Atlantic Exhibition in Paris?
- ALT2:... that although the flag of NATO (pictured) was designed to be "simple and inoffensive", US congressman John Travers Wood criticized it for being a "strange and alien rag"?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Talal al-Sharif
- Comment: Please save for April 4, the day that NATO was established.

- Well, it's long enough and new enough, so that's a good start. I'm still looking at it, but I can tell you already that the first hook is simply not neutral and can't run. ALT1 and ALT2 would be fine, with 1 being not so terribly exciting and 2 being better but a bit wordy. Drmies (talk) 01:11, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
I checked all the references and found no plagiarism or close paraphrasing. The article is short but clean and to the point. I think that ALT 1 is best, even though it's a tad boring, since the comment by this Idaho Congressperson is just that, a jingoistic comment by a former Idaho Congressperson, and we shouldn't give front-page credibility to these remarks. Send it on, keeping in mind the creator's request for the April 4 date. Drmies (talk) 01:20, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
