Gustavus Hume
- ... that Irish surgeon Gustavus Hume was so fond of prescribing oatmeal porridge to his patients that he became known as "Stirabout Gusty"?
ALT1:... that in 1795, surgeon Gustavus Hume was called to examine the body of William Jackson after he died in court from poisoning while awaiting sentencing for high treason?

Interesting life, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. I prefer the original, as funnier, and you better know the person who died to find the ALT interesting, no? In the lead (and ALT1 if wanted), please clarify who the "he" is who died", or it reads quirky ;) - Waiting for qpq, mostly fine otherwise. - I suggest to just mention only the year of presidency in the lead, and to have "Censors" lc. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:30, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks Template:Reply. QPQ done. Proposed hook sounds better and shorter. Template:Ping to change ALT1 if wish. Whispyhistory (talk) 05:58, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
- Struck the alt as it becomes too long if more info is added. Philafrenzy (talk) 06:12, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
