Plot

Booty Call is about a tender-hearted, upwardly-mobile man named Rushon who has been dating his girlfriend Nikki for seven weeks. They really like each other, but their relationship has not yet been consummated; Nikki is not so sure if their relationship is ready for the next stage.

Rushon asks Nikki out to dinner, but Nikki wants it to be a double date. She brings her opinionated friend Lysterine "Lysti", and Rushon comes with his "bad boy" buddy Bunz. Lysti and Bunz hit it off very quickly, and to Rushon's surprise, Nikki decides it is time for their relationship to move to the next level. However, they have one small problem: this is the 1990s, and everyone wants to practice "safe sex." Therefore, Rushon and Bunz must go on wild adventures trying to find "protection" before the evening's mood evaporates.[1]

Controversy

At an inteview, Jamie Foxx mention what makes the movies different is because when a show features black people, it is often held to higher standards than other programs. Jamie also remembers once being asked by a television reporter, "Why must we sound so black?".

"And she was black," He said. "I said, `You know what? We are black.' We're black and we're different. We have different (types of) black.

"I tell people all the time when I do interviews, `I like fried chicken, I like rap music, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that,' " Jamie said. "But at the same time, we have a black race that is so broad."

"We've got doctors, we've got lawyers, we've got rappers, we've got basketball players. We can all get along and have a great time. But we don't always have to impress the white (audience). We don't have to be on our best behavior because we'll look bad to them. We should be on our best behavior because we want to look good in front of ourselves."[2]
