Malcolm (Macbeth)
- ... that Malcolm took the throne from Macbeth who had killed Malcolm's father, King Duncan in William Shakespeare's Macbeth?

New enough and long enough. Hook is fine, and whilst I know the hook accurately reflects the events in the play, there is no reference to support it. There are not enough references generally - even some links to the relevant sections of a free online version of the text would help. Edwardx (talk) 00:14, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
- Are there free online versions of the play? Note that many issues are cited to the exact line in the text although no formal WP:ICs are used.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 00:41, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
- You have added a free online version of the play as your second External link (by the way, the first links returns a 404 error). Alas, this version does not include line numbers. DYK rule 3b is clear - "The hook fact must be cited in the article with an inline citation to a reliable source". Edwardx (talk) 23:38, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
Sorry Tony - IMO this article extends the scope of DYK. The article offers only one source apart from the play itself. This is like an article about a film where the only content is sourced plot summary. In this case its not even a complete plot, its just the bits where one character appears. More 3rd party analysis required to supply sources. IMO. thanks Victuallers (talk) 18:54, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
Withdrawn'Sorry, guys. I am probably not going to do any more research on this subject.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 00:18, 16 April 2014 (UTC)- I have unwithdrawn this nomination in hopes of getting it onto the main page for April 26, which WP sort of recognizes as William Shakespeare's 450th birthday.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 23:02, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
Template:U has withdrawn from this nomination.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 07:42, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
- So does that mean that the nomination is still live, and counted as nominated by you TTT? From what I see the sources also include the notes written by three other sources, so there is more than 1 primary source + 1 other. So I will say sourcing overall is OK.
